What do I do until I can get service?
Take a deep breathe and remain calm. Everything is going to be alright.
Stop the flow of water:
In a plumbing emergency, you’ll need to stop the flow of water quickly. To do this, you and each member of your family need to know the location of the shutoff valve for every fixture and appliance, as well as the main shutoff valve for the house, and how they operate. Once the water to the problem area is shut off, give us a call! We will get there as soon as we can.
Shutoffs aren't working:
In a case where your main house shutoff isn't working or breaks, you will have to call the city to turn off the water at the meter. Once the water is off, call us up and we will be on our way to your location shortly.
Sewage backing up:
If sewage is backing up out of multiple drains (shower, tub, toilet, floor drain, etc.) there is likely an issue with the main drain. Stop using all water fixtures immediately, as running water will aggravate the issue and cause further overflow. Once you have eliminated the use of fixtures, the next step is to call Gary's Plumbing and Heating. We will have the next available technician to your location to get you up and running again.
Need advice or reassurance? We can help with that too! Give us a call and we will help you as best we can over the phone until a technician can arrive. We've got your back.
