Handy Tips When Your Pipes Burst

February 23, 2018

5 tips for a burst pipe

  1. Find the main water shut valve and shut the water off by turning the valve clockwise.

  2. Locate where the pipe burst - Make sure it’s safe and away from any electrical devices.

  3. Clean up- Grab a bucket and towels to collect any dripping or spraying water!

  4. Space Heater -  After making sure the water is cleared, you can heat up the area with a space heater or even a blow dryer closest to where you think the pipes may have frozen. Be sure the area is clear of any running or pooled water or items that are flammable.

  5. Call a Plumber - You may not want to take any chances, calling in technicians with the proper experience, tools, and equipment can save you time and money.
