Gary's Plumbing & Heating proudly supports Whatcom Center for Early Learning and NAMI Whatcom, demonstrating our commitment to the Bellingham community.

Supporting Early Childhood Development

The Whatcom Center for Early Learning (WCEL) recently hosted their spectacular 2025 Auction & Gala, raising over $114,000 for young children and families in our area. This 80s-themed evening demonstrated the power of community support through:

  • Generous sponsorship from local businesses, including our team as one of their biggest supporters
  • Enthusiastic participation from community members who showed up in their best 80s attire
  • Successful auction bidding that directly funds essential programs
  • Ongoing donation opportunities through their website for those who couldn't attend

WCEL's mission ensures that quality early childhood education and support remain accessible to families who need them most, regardless of financial barriers.

Two Decades of Mental Health Advocacy

Our partnership with NAMI Whatcom spans over 20 years through consistent gold-level sponsorship. NAMI Whatcom, an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, provides crucial support to our community by offering:

  • Free mental health programs for individuals and families
  • Educational classes about mental health conditions and resources
  • Community support groups and peer connections
  • Crisis intervention and advocacy services

This year's Women Sharing Hope event benefiting NAMI Whatcom and YWCA Bellingham marked the 25th Anniversary Spring Champagne Luncheon, Handbag & Garden Auction held on May 3rd. The event's success demonstrates how collaborative fundraising efforts amplify community impact.

The Ripple Effect of Community Investment

These partnerships represent more than financial support—they reflect our belief that healthy communities require active participation from local businesses. When organizations like WCEL and NAMI Whatcom thrive, they create positive ripple effects throughout Bellingham by:

  • Strengthening family foundations through early childhood support
  • Reducing stigma around mental health challenges
  • Providing accessible resources during difficult times
  • Building networks of support that extend beyond individual programs

Looking Forward

Through Gary's Giving, we remain committed to supporting organizations that share our values of helping others and building stronger communities. These partnerships remind us that successful businesses have a responsibility to invest in the neighborhoods they serve.
