Don’t Get Caught in the Cold

Summer is on its way out, which means that it’s time to prep for the upcoming fall season! Our
Healthy Home Maintenance Program is a great place to start.

It’s hard to think about problems that don’t currently exist. After all, why fix something that isn’t broken? Furthermore, how hard is it to think about heating your home during a heat wave in August?

Very hard, which is why it may actually be the perfect time to inspect your heating system before the leaves begin to fall and the colder breeze begins to blow. Before exploring the key features and benefits of Healthy Home, let’s dive into a couple of reasons why our heating services are so crucial to begin with.

Efficient Heating Systems

In reality, the best time to inspect your heating system is about one month prior to a change in season. This proactive inspection practice ensures that it will remain in top condition while remaining effective. It’s been found that your heating system loses about 5% of its efficiency each year. We strive towards optimal functionality year-round!

Improved Reliability

Okay, we get it. Your heating system becomes more efficient after it gets serviced. Of course it does, so what?

Simply put, this enhanced efficiency allows homeowners to rest easy while avoiding future headaches & repairs down the line, likely after the season is in full swing and damage is already done. Additionally, those who try to play the hero and “fix it themselves” almost always pay the price (quite literally) by trying to fix an issue that grew larger due to a lack of professional delegation. Talk about a costly repair. When all is said and done, leave it to the pros!

That’s why Gary’s Plumbing and Heating is here for you.

Enhanced Energy Savings

When a heating system is dirty and neglected, it has to work much harder to fulfill basic temperature requirements of a typical home or business. This causes large problems over the long run & also greatly enhances the energy bill.

Better Air Quality

Attaining a professional touch up of your heating system will ensure that any loose particles and/or contaminants don’t clog up the pipes.

So, about that Healthy Home Thing….

So glad you asked! One of the first things we do is conduct a complete furnace and duct inspection. As we approach the colder months of these two systems, we’ll focus more on the former. If left unchecked, here are a few things you could notice later on, at which point, service will be much costlier as your furnace may have already been damaged.

  • Increased energy bills
A heater that is performing under capacity means that it’s less efficient, and will therefore use way more energy and produce less heat.

  • Insufficient Heating
This one is quite obvious, but worth mentioning nonetheless. At this point, furnaces can actually become completely ineffective. However, it is also worth noting that a drop in temperature may also be due to an issue with the ducts or blowers.

  • Strange Sounds
Ever notice odd noises coming from your car engine? The story is no different - something could be wrong. A few common sounds include grinding, screeching, whining, or an overall increase in general noise.

  • Dusty House
This one is the least obvious. Sometimes, older furnaces lack the necessary moisture that cleans the air in your home, which causes stuffiness and dust, yuck!

The good news is….you won’t have to experience these issues if you
call today!

Additional Products & Services for your Healthy Home

Here are a few additional services that our Healthy Home Maintenance Program can assist with as we get closer to the colder season.

  • Tankless Hot Water
Tankless water heaters operate without the use of a typical hot water tank. Essentially, we connect a heating element to your plumbing system. This ensures that anyone who turns on the hot water faucet will receive hot water until it’s no longer needed. These tankless systems are also commonly referred to as On-Demand Water Heaters for this exact reason.

  • Heat Pumps
Heat pumps keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. These are used all-year long, so it also pays to get a healthy home check for these devices towards the end of the winter months.

So there you have it! Our Healthy Home Maintenance Program is a great step in the right direction towards proactively sustaining the longevity of your house or business. Visit us HERE to get in touch and submit a service request!
